House on a hill

My amazing wife, Michelle, recently gave me the awesomest Valentine's Day gift evah: The Skillful Huntsman.

That book shows the design process that is taught at The Art Center College of Design. Its a fantastic and very inspirational read, so I'm going to rip them off as much as I can, only process wise though ;)

With that in mind, I'm still expanding my Environment Art portfolio, this is the latest, all digital too (a first!)

Expect more art in this vein soon, I'm really enjoying the process (not so detail oriented, color based, faster to produce)

New environments and Gallery cleanup

Man, there was a lot of crap lurking around the gallery. Most of the stuff I took out I still like, probably due to sentimental attachment or something ... but I finally got rid of a lot of really old artwork (circa 2003!)

Some of the old stuff like the Chrono Trigger piece or the Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna re-design I'm keeping there because those are important and still technically capable pieces. Its not every day that I'm going to win a Japanese art contest with my favorite company and I'm gonna milk that for a while more :D.

Been watching TONS of Battlestar Galactica this past week, fantastic show, and in the meantime Ive been doodling on Photoshop plenty, mostly focusing on the environments. This one was probably my fave of the bunch:

Click here to see the other environment and I also did a Gungan redesign for the Headgate Art Challenge this week. Also, thanks a lot for the recent comments!, its a good feeling to see people finally posting :)
